HK Stocks Fall Below 25000 in Afternoon; SMIC Drops 6%

Hong Kong stocks fell below the 25000 mark in afternoon trading. The Hang Seng Index briefly hit a low of 24929.94, down 323.46 points. The Tech Index fell 1.94% to 4878 points. SMIC (00981) fell 6.32% temporarily.

"Huigangtong" Hong Kong stocks fell below the 25000 mark in afternoon trading. The temporary low was 24929.94 points, down 323.46 points.

The Tech Index reported 4878 points, down 1.94%; the H-Shares Index reported 8433 points, down 0.8%.

AIA (01299) was at 73.95 yuan, down 3.585%; HSBC Holdings (00005) was at 142.2 yuan, down 2.869%.

SMIC (00981) temporarily fell 6.32% to 76.35 yuan. (SY)
